There were more UTSFC members selected in the 2002 Australian Commonwealth Championships Team than the combined number selected from other NSW based clubs.

All UTSFC members selected in the team won either Gold or Silver medals. These included the following:

Mens Foil Individual - Gold to Frank Bartolillo and 6th to Steve Augoloupis
Mens Foil Team - Gold to Frank Bartolillo and Steve Augoloupis
Womens Epee Team - Gold to Adele Haswell
Womens Sabre Individual - 8th to Melissa Yeung
Womens Sabre Team - Silver to Melissa Yeung
Mens Sabre Team - Silver to Sean Anderson, James Fordham and Keiran Thompson
